Burning Tree Country Club
Greenwich, Connecticut
“We are very proud of the design work and the execution of the construction and we believe the course is now better than ever. The course has been strengthened strategically, enhanced aesthetically and remains just as challenging but perhaps a bit more playable. Burning Tree will provide a challenging but fair test to the Met area's top professional and amateur women golfers.” - Tripp Davis

In recent years, Burning Tree has undergone a renovation under the watchful eye of Tripp Davis. TDA redesigned and rebuilt all 18 greens on the course, plus two new practice putting greens, several bunkers and a new short game practice area. Davis, one of the leading golf course restoration specialists in the U.S., wanted to improve the greens by increasing the variety in putting surfaces, to significantly create more hole locations and to tie the greens more effectively into surrounding bunkers, slopes and other natural features, while constructing them to USGA specifications. The poa annua based greens were replaced with Pure Distinction bent grass.
The 2017 WMGA/Met PGA Women’s Met Open was contested at Burning Tree. The club opened in 1962 and has hosted U.S. Open Qualifiers and Met PGA events.
